Wow, it's been awhile since I've done a challenge! My oldest is graduating in a couple of weeks and I have been busy making plans for his graduation party. Where does the time go?
This is my card for Beate's 'Be Inspired Challenge' this week. I was sooo excited when I saw this picture because I love this color combo and I knew right away that is where I would go with this challenge! I must admit that I was blog surfing and I came across Amy's blog where I saw this beautiful card that she made. I LOVE the layout that she used and I decided I must borrow some of it for my card. Thanks for stopping by!

This is the card I came up with using some of those scraps in the picture above. I also decided to use this week's SCS sketch challenge as my starting point. The only thing that did not come out of my scrap box was the 8x8 piece of Bordering Blue CS. I even gave the ugly copper brads that I hate and never use, a new look by turning them into brown brads to match my color scheme. Here is how I did that: With a needle nose pliers grasp onto the brad feet and heat the top (head) with your heat gun for about 30-45 seconds so it it really hot. Then quickly dip the brad into colored embossing powder and gently tap of any excess powder. Heat brad again (about 5 seconds) to melt the powder onto the brad but DO NOT OVER HEAT. Let cool for about 30 seconds while still clamped in needle nose before setting down. There you go! Any color brad any time!
Have fun, I can't wait to see what you turn your scraps into!
To participate in the challenge and be entered in a drawing, make a card using your scraps and upload it either to your blog, or to an online gallery.
Post a link to your card to this blog entry as a comment. Please add your entry# to it. I will draw a winner on Tuesday at 9:00am.
If you upload your card to your splitcoast gallery, don’t forget to add - GGC1 in the keyword section. That way we can all look at them at once.
