OCC - It's a Tea Party!

Hello and welcome to 'My Little Stampin' Spot!' I am so glad it's the weekend and that we are finally having some beautiful weather! The snow is finally GONE!

This week over at 'Our Creative Corner' our hostess Sharon Wheet - Designs by Sharon, is inviting us to a tea party, well actually she is inviting us to create a project with a 'Tea Party' theme. I had two different stamps sets in mind for this project, both are retired sets from Stampin' Up! that go way back in time! I decided to go with this whimsical, playful set called 'Teacups'.

OCC - Girl Power

Hello everyone and welcome to 'My Little Stampin' Spot!' 

Can you believe it's April already? I am so glad to see winter leave and spring arrive! April also brings two new hostesses over at 'Our Creative Corner', for the first two week's our hostess will be Sharon Wheet ~ Designs by Sharon.  Sharon has a fun challenge for all of us 'Girls' to try, she's calling it 'Girl Power'! Create a card, 3-D project, scrapbook layout, etc with the following things included: 

You must include a hand-made paper flower, ribbon and some bling (rhinestones, glass glitter, pearls, you get the idea, all those girl things!) When your done with this week's challenge, make sure you stop by Sharon's blog and check out her beautiful designs!

OCC - Reuse your packaging Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to 'My Little Stampin' Spot! This week's challenge over at 'Our Creative Corner' is to reuse your packaging. Our hostess Rebecca Ednie - Eclectic Endeavors is challenging us to reuse your packaging! Use those boxes, cans, tins, bags, plastic clamshells or embellishment bubbles you might usually throw out to create a fabulous project! I gotta confess, it took me awhile to figure out what I was going to reuse. I have been trying to clean house and reduce my crafting supplies and I'm not very good at keeping a lot of extra 'things' around (you know the things I'm talking about, those things you look at and think 'someday I could use this for.....', things) so to come up with something to reuse was going to be tough! Lucky for me I still kept some metal containers and I also came across some of those sewing kits that you can pick up at hotels. This sewing kit just so happened to have a hard case that slid open and close with the name of the company on the front of it (boring!). So I decided to make my own traveling sewing kit, not that I do a lot of sewing, LOL. But you never know when you might need to sew a button or two back on. OCC - 1234 Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to My Little Stampin' Spot! This week 'Our Creative Corner' has a new hostess - Kristin Tierney from LilyBeth Boutique and Kristin has a fun 1,2,3,4, challenge for us to try. What is a 1,2,3,4 challenge you ask? Kristin wants us to create a card/project using the following guidelines:

*One patterned paper - pre-printed paper, but feel free to stamp directly onto it.

*Two layers - the card base does NOT count as a layer, it is a base.

*Three stamps - 3 separate images

*Four non-paper embellishments (can be the same type. ex: 4 buttons; or combine several, ex: 2 buttons, 1 ribbon, 1 brad).

This week our hostess over at 'Our Creative Corner' is Sarah Gough ~ Thinking Stamps. I love Sarah's work, she always has so many cute and fresh ideas! This week Sarah is challenging us to 'Get Wordy' - Use a sentiment stamp to create a background or layer for your card/project by stamping it repeatedly. I chose to use my 'Happy Birthday' sentiment from the 'Bring on the Cake' SU! stamp set. I stamped it repeatedly on Whisper White cs using Real Red ink.

This week our hostess Sarah Gough ~ Thinking Stamps, over at 'Our Creative Corner' is challenging us to add color and depth to our dry embossing using ink and a sponge or brayer, paint, or by inking the embossing folder directly before running through your die cutting machine.

I wanted to create a interesting package for a gift card for my Neice for Christmas. I had ordered a few of these metal DVD cases a while back (like 2 years ago!) and came across them and thought they would be perfect for my packaging idea. I love how it turned out, and now plan to decorate a few more and use them for a stationary/card gift set.

This week brings us into a new month and a new month over at 'Our Creative Corner' means a new hostess. Linda Coughlin ~ 'The Funkie Junkie' is our hostess for November and she is challenging us to create a card/project reflecting on something we are thankful for. It does not need to be a Thanksgiving card or even a Thank You card, just something you are thankful for!



This past week, my oldest son Matt left for the Army and won't be able to come home until Christmas. So this year, I will be very thankful for Christmas when my whole family will be able to be together again!
