Stem Silhouettes - CC129

This is my card for this week's color challenge over at SCS. The challenge was to use Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink & Old Olive. It took me a couple of times before I was 'kinda happy' with the combo, I'm not sure that I like yet.
Since Purely Pomegranate is one of the new 'In Colors' it is not offered in the markers. So to get the color on the stamp image I used a blender pen and dipped it into the Purely Pomegranate ink pad and than colored it directly onto the stamp image. I also took the old olive marker and directly colored the stems of the image.
To create the background image on the Pretty in Pink cardstock, I first stamped the Linen background stamp in pretty in pink ink and then stamped the En Francais over the top using Purely Pomegrante ink. I then sponged the edges using Purely pomegranate.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies Used: Stamps~ Stem Silhouettes, Short Sayings.
Paper~ Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Petals & Paisleys DP, Whisper White.
Ink~ Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black.
Accessories~ Old Olive Marker, Pretty in Pink brads, rhinestone brads, Purely Pomegranate Stitched ribbon, Three for you punch, ticket punch, sponge.

Season of Joy - WSC#16

Well, Beate did it again! She had another awesome sketch challenge this past weekend. This is my card for that challenge. If you haven't participated in Beate's Sketch Challenge yet, I really encourage you to do so, they are so fun and they keep your creativy flowing!

I really enjoy making different sized cards other then the standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Don't get me wrong, I like making the standard size too, but it's refreshing to make something different now and then! This card fits into that catagory, it measures 3 1/4 x 6 1/2 and will fit into the small opened end envelopes that Stampin' Up! offers.

I'm not sure if you can see it, but I placed a rhinestone brad in the center of the star brad after I set it.

Again, thanks for stopping by today!

True Friend WSC #15

Rain, Rain go away!!! It has been raining for the last 4-5 days, I can't remember when it hasn't. I am ready for some sunshine again, we needed the rain but not all at once! Southern Minnesota has seen the most, unfortunately their have been about 6 deaths due to flash flooding in that area.

Due to all this rain we have been getting, I wasn't able to get a good picture of my card for Beate's past weekend sketch challenge. Hopefully this picture isn't too dark. Do any of you have some good indoor lighting suggestions for me? If so I would love to hear them, leave me a post.

I have been keeping an eye on my counter and I am slowly getting closer to 10K hits, keep checking back, I have some yummy goodies waiting for some lucky reader once I hit 10K!!Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend sketch challenge

YEAH, I am so happy that I was able to get this card done early this weekend for Beate's WSC#14. The last few week's it's taken me a bit longer due to being so busy with everyday life (can you imagine that!) LOL. Only three more week's until school starts, but who counting!

I went out a little bit of my comfort zone with the colors of this card, but I am pleased with how it turned out. I had been eyeing up the Darling Doodles DP and really wanted to try to combine the Groovy Guava & the Purely Pomegranate colors together. I know, that color combo just doesn't seem right together, but I think I was able to pull it off! What do you think?

As always, Thanks for stopping by today!

Sketch Challenge

This week's sketch challenge #136 over at SCS was a diffent one! I wasn't sure if I was going to do it but the more ideas I saw the more I wanted to give it a try!

This is what I came up with. I'm not sure that I like it, I feel that it may be to busy with the two different DP's I used. What do you think?

When doing the butterfly, I stamped the image onto Whisper white cs than trimmed around it and set aside. I than stamped the image onto a piece of vellum using Groovy Guava, I poured the crystal clear embossing powder over the top right away so the ink would not dry before I had the chance to emboss it. I then cut out just the wings and attached to the other design with two mini glue dots (I love those glue dots). This gives it the 3D look.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Supplies Used: Stamps~ Garden Whimsy.

Paper~ Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Darling Doodles DP, Whisper White cs, Vellum.

Ink~ Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava.

Accessories~ Wild Wasabi stitched ribbon, silver brads, white gel pen, ticket punch, key tag punch, lg oval punch, scallop circle punch & 1 3/8" circle punch (that's alot of punches).

Color Challenge 126

This week's color challenge over at SCS was to use Soft Sky, Blue Bayou & Cameo Coral. Well instead of Cameo Coral I decided to use Groovy Guava, I think that the three go together well.

These three colors are part of the new In Colors by Stampin' Up! The other three colors are Wild Wasabi (green), River Rock (tannish with a green hue), & Purely Pomagranate (Reddish purple). So far I think that Blue Bayou & Soft Sky are my favorites in these new colors.
I was really pleased with the way this card came together, of course it's another square card but I didn't want to cut the flower design down to fit the traditional 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card layout.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies Used: Stamps~ Pick a Petal, Fundamental Phrases.
Paper~ Blue Bayou CS & DP, Soft Sky DP, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal.
Ink~ Blue Bayou, Groovy Guava.
Accessories~ Soft Sky Stitched ribbon, Clear round Rhinestone brads, White Gel pen, 1 - 3/8" circle punch, paper piercer, black writer.

Pick a Petal Ladybug

I have been asked to make samples for my Upline's 2nd annual Stamping & Scrapbooking Extravganza - Open House on August 18th. Well of course I chose Pick a Petal as the set I wanted to make samples of, and if I have time I am going to make samples using the Garden whimsy set.

I need to make 6 cards from each set along with a 6x6 scrapbook page that can be added to a 8 1/2 page which in turn can be added to a 12x12 page (does that make sense?).

This is one of the samples that I made using the Pick a Petal set. It's hard to see but on the bugs antenna's I cut a stripe of basic black cs very thin and about 2" long, folded it in half and attached to the back side of the bug, I then took my stylus and rolled the ends back.
Supplies Used: Stamps~ Pick a Petal, Stem Sayings,Rough Texture jumbo wheel.
Paper~ Certainly Celery,Cutie Pie DP, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal, Basic Black, Rose Red, Bliss Blue.
Ink~ Basic Black, Rose Red, Certainly Celery ink cartridge.

Sketch Challenge

This is my card for this week's sketch challenge #135 over at SCS. Another square card, sorry but I love the square card!

This card measures 5x5 when folded. I layered a piece of Brocade DP over the Vintage Violet (retired In Color). I then added photo corners punched out in Vintage Violet to the two opposite corners and added three vintage brads to each. I than added a piece of old olive wide organdy ribbon to the top layer.

The oval design was made by using my Coluzzle cutting system after I stamped the design on Whisper White CS.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Blossoms Abound. Paper~ Vintage Violet, Whisper white, Brocade DP. Ink~ Vintage Violet, Always Artichoke. Accessories~ Vintage Brads, Photo Corner Punch, Old Olive wide Organdy ribbon, Coluzzle Cutting System, paper piercer.
