OCC ~ Embossing with Color

Hello everyone and welcome to 'My Little Stampin' Spot! This week our hostess Sarah Gough ~ Thinking Stamps, over at 'Our Creative Corner' is challenging us to add color and depth to our dry embossing using ink and a sponge or brayer, paint, or by inking the embossing folder directly before running through your die cutting machine.

I wanted to create a interesting package for a gift card for my Neice for Christmas. I had ordered a few of these metal DVD cases a while back (like 2 years ago!) and came across them and thought they would be perfect for my packaging idea. I love how it turned out, and now plan to decorate a few more and use them for a stationary/card gift set.

Back to School!

Hello everyone and welcome to Saturday and another Challenge from 'Our Creative Corner'. This week our hostess Wendy Janson ~ It's All About Stamping has challenged us to create a card/project with a school theme.

I seem to be in an 'Owly' mood these days, NO not crabby, I'm just LOVIN' anything and everything to do with 'OWLS'. Can you blame me? I first saw this handsome guy on a card from fellow SU! demonstrator Dana Newson a few weeks ago, it was love at first sight!

This cute little guy is a 'Chipboard' Owl that came in a package from SU! called 'So Tweet'. Lucky for me I saw Dana's card when I did because this chipboard set was discountinued from the catalog this past July\. BUT not before I could place an order for 3 pkgs of them, I now have enough owls to last me for awhile, LOL!!! So be prepared, you may see more Owls in the near future!

Concord Crush Flower

Hello Everyone! Happy Monday, hope you had a fantastic weekend!

Today's card showcases another paper punch flower that I have had so much fun creating! This flower was created with the small scallop punch (4 punches) and the large scallop punch (1 punch). All 5 punches were stamped on both sides with a specked stamp using Concord Crush ink and then sponged around the edges with Concord Crush. After I stamped each punch, I then crumbled each one to give them a destressed look. I used the large scallop punch as the base and the 4 small punches were each folded in half and then into quarters and centered onto the large scallop punch equally with snail adhesive. To keep the folds in place I took a small piece of linen thread and tacked down each section in the center. To hide the thread I used a summer sun corduroy brad which also served as the center of the flower. Give the paper punch flower a try and let me know what you think!

Curtain Call convention swap

Hello everyone, hope your week is going well! Today I would like to share with you the card I made for Stacey's Curtain Call Convention Swap! I was so excited when I saw Stacey was hosting a convention swap, I knew I had to participate.

I first made this card without the paper punch flower, but thought it looked bare and needed something else. Normally I wouldn't have made the flower for a large swap, but this swap was only 15 cards and I thought that was a managable number. Each flower consists of 6-5 petal punches, all 6 punches are spritzed and sponged and 5 punches are crumbled and folded (accordian style) then added to the 6th punch with snail adhesive and a large brad.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Paper Punch Flowers

Hello Everyone, happy Friday! I am so glad the weekend is finally here, even though it was a short week, I'm always glad to see the weekend roll around (more time to stamp!).
Today card was a fun one to make! I knew I wanted to use the colors from this weeks Curtain Call Color Challenge 37, I also knew I wanted to add one of these fun Paper Punched Flowers!
I was blog surfing and cruising though the Stampin' Up! community website when I came across the cutest paper punched flowers! Fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator Jessica Luther, had made the cutest project with six different paper punched flowers! I KNEW I had to give them a try the minute I saw them! There were no specific directions on how to make each of them, but she did list the punches that were used. I printed out a picture of them, then I had to come up with my own design on how to make them.
To make this flower I used the 'Fancy Flower' punch and punched out 5 flowers in Melon mambo. Punching, Spritzing, Sponging, Crumbling, folding then assembled! Look for more fun flowers in the days to come!

A Happy Heart ~ Curtain Call 36

Hello Everyone and welcome to Tuesday!!

Well after the bad weather we had last week here in Minnesota, it has turned around and we have been enjoying BEAUTIFUL weather the last two days. In fact it has been so nice, I really had a hard time staying in and stamping, but last night I sat down and created this card for this week's Curtain Call Color Challenge #36. I LOVE Stacey's Color Challenges, and I look forward to them every week! Hop on over to Stacey's blog and check out her challenges and while your there, sit down and enjoy her BEAUTIFUL creations too!

Thanks for Stopping by!
