Dianne B from Anna, Texas is number 100. Email me your address Dianne, I would love to send you a little thank you for visiting my blog!

Happy mail from Beate!

I receive this sweet card in the mail yesterday from Beate. I had sent her one of my Flaky Friends Slider cards and she was so nice to send me a thank you note. I just love how she stamps the faux stitching on her cards. I have tried to use that technique, and mine never look as good as hers!

She also takes great pictures of her art work! I borrowed her photo from her blog! Thanks Beate!

Slider Tutorial

These are the supplies I used to make the Flakly Friends slider card shown here . Your supplies may differ depending on how you choose to embellish, and which stamp set you choose.

Supplies include: Paper Trimmer, Scissors, 1/8" Sticky Strip, Brads, Paper Piercer, Mono Adhesive, Markers, Ticket punch,Linen Background Stamp, Winter green DP, Always Artichoke CS, Whisper White CS, always Artichoke Ink, Flaky Friends Stamp set.

Step 1. Cut your 8 -1/2" x 11 inch colored cardstock lengthwise into two pieces that measure 4 -1/4" x 11". Set one piece aside to use for a second card. Fold in half so card measures 4 -1/4" x 5- 1/2".

Step 2: Using your Linen background stamp, stamp the front of your card and also on the inside of the card (you will only be seeing the top back portion of the inside).

Step 3: Trim 1 -3/4" from the front of the card. Set aside.

Step 4: Creating the inside 'slider'. Cut a piece of white cardstock to measure 4" x 3-3/4". Starting at the top, measure a line 3/8" in from each side stopping 3/4" from the bottom. This will resemble an upside down T.

Trim on the lines.

Step 5: Cut a piece of Always Artichoke to measure 3-1/4" x 4". Attach this piece of whisper white to the top of the Artichoke.

Step 6: Starting from the inside fold, attach a 1/8" x 3 -1/2"strip of sticky tape to each side, making sure you get as close to the edges as possible.

Place your 'T' shaped slider in the middle of the sticky strips as shown in the picture (make sure that there is a little room on each side of the sticky strip so it will be able to slide easily when put together) You may need to trim a SMALL amount on each side if you feel it might not slide easily, (don't remove to much). Remove the top layer of the sticky strip and fold the top of the card over to form a pocket.

**This next step is very important**

Step 7: To ensure your slider will not pull all the way out, you will need to place brads in each of the upper corners. It is very important that they are in far enough to catch the tabs at the bottom of the slider when it is pulled upward. I placed my brads 3/8" in from each outer corner of the front pocket.

Add your designer paper to the front. If adding ribbon place a piece of sticky strip to the top of your DP, add ribbon.

Step 8: Stamp the slider and add embellishments. Add colored image to the top of the pocket. Enjoy!

A Basic Challenge

Basic Gray that is! This week's Way's to Use it Challenge #132 was to use the color Basic Gray. This is my card for that challenge.
I stamped the Paisley background stamp onto the cardstock with basic gray ink. I really like the elegant look that it gives. This is the first time that I had used my basic gray cardstock, I think I will be using it more often, it really is a pretty color of gray.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies Used: Stamps~ Artfully Asian, Paisley.
Paper~ Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink textured paper, Basic Black, Charbon DP.
Ink~ Basic Black, Basic Gray, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke.

Bronc Buster

I thought I would play around with my Bronc Buster set again for this week's sketch challenge over at SCS. I'm also using this week's color challenge for this card.

This was a pretty quick card to make but my first attempt looked kind of blah. I didn't have enough room to add a sentiment on the front, so I added the photo corners to the left side. I think it helped with the open space, what do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies Used: Stamps~ Bronc Buster.
Paper~ Chocolate Chip, Really Rust & Sahara Sand, Outlaw DP.
Ink~ Chocolate Chip.
Accessories~ Hodgepodge Hardware, Ticket Punch, Photo Punch, Paper Piercer, Sponge.

Slider Tutorial coming soon!

I have had many requests for a template or instructions on how to make my Flaky Friends slider card! It so easy you won't believe it! I am in the process of writing a tutorial and hope to have it posted soon! So keep checking back!

Card for Victoria

This is my card for this week's color challenge over at SCS. The challenge was to use Chocolate Chip, Really Rust & River Rock or Sahara Sand. The Designer paper that I used had Sahara Sand in the background so I stuck with that color instead of the River Rock.

Since I LOVE doing Beate's weekend Sketch challenges and was not able to do the one two week's ago, #18, I decided to use it in this design.

This card will be going to a little girl in Texas who has cancer, her name is Victoria Enmon. Victoria's English teacher is behind this project and would like to see Victoria receive cards and letters from each state around the country. Her goal is to have Victoria receive over 5,000 cards, that's 100 cards per state!

If you would like to participate in this project this is what you need to do. Send Victoria a card, enclose a little information about yourself and your family. You must include what state and city you live so she can chart where all of her cards came from! All cards and letters must be sent to Victoria by September 27th, 2007!

Send your cards & letters to:

Victoria Enmon

1205 Red Bud Circle

Orange, TX 77632

And Please say a pray for her and her family! Pass this on to everyone you know, Wouldn't this be awesome if we can make this happen!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I wasn't really sure of the Taken with Teal in the mix, so I was really conservative with how much of it I used. I like the way it turned out, a little went a long way!
