Snowflake Journal

I received this beautiful journal in the mail the other day from my friend and downline Colleen. I have been doing a monthly swap with some of my downline for the last few years and we recently had a journal swap. I love how she decorated both sides of the journal.
Well, off to wrapping up some presents while the kids are at school. I think I'm done with most of my shopping, I guess I will find out soon!
Thanks for stopping by today!

So this is what I am going to do, BOTH of you are winners, YEAH! Cheryl and Tina email me your address and I will get your prizes out to you right away!

Are you Curious Yet?

Many of you know I have been making Christmas Card samples for my brother. For the past nine years I have been making their business Christmas cards and he had asked me to make them again this year. Are you curious to find out which card they chose?

I thought it might be fun to play a little guessing game with all of you, are you up for the challenge? I made eight samples of Christmas cards for my brother to choose from, I have posted all eight below.

Here is the challenge: Can you guess which card he chose? Everyone that guesses the correct card will be eligible to win a prize. I will chose a random winner from the correct guesses on Sunday November 11 at 8:00 pm CDT.

This is what you need to do to play:

Each card is labeled with it's own title, use that title for making your guess.
Leave your guess here on this post, ONE guess per person.
All guesses must be made by 7:00 pm CDT - Sunday 11/11/07.

Winner will receive a copy of the winning card, along with a surpise package of goodies! I will make it worth your while to play along! So if your ready to play, here you go! GOOD LUCK!

This card is like yesterday's with the exception of the colors I used and I also added a greeting on the front. What do you think?

Festive Snowmen

Today's sample card for my brother was made with the 'Festive Favorites' set. I Love the vintage look of this set, especially the snowmen! This is actually one of two cards that I made this past weekend using the same color combo along with the Cuttlebug snowflake folder. I have really been having fun with this folder, it just makes the perfect background for winter cards!
Before last year's 'In Color's' retired I had made sure that I ordered plenty of the card stock and stitched ribbon. I decided it was time to pull out some the the True Thyme and use it for this card. I think it adds to the vintage look of the stamp. What do you think?

I'm Still here!

Yes, I am still around, sorry I've been so quite. I have been trying to create some samples of Christmas cards for my brother. Every year for the past 9 years I have made the Christmas cards for his business and he has asked me to make them again this year.
This is one of the samples I created for him to choose from. It is hard to see but I added some stickles to some of the pine needles to look like frost. I think I might add some Liquid applique also to give a snow effect on the pine cones.
I hope to post a new sample everyday for the next week.

Happy mail from Beate!

I receive this sweet card in the mail yesterday from Beate. I had sent her one of my Flaky Friends Slider cards and she was so nice to send me a thank you note. I just love how she stamps the faux stitching on her cards. I have tried to use that technique, and mine never look as good as hers!

She also takes great pictures of her art work! I borrowed her photo from her blog! Thanks Beate!

Featured Stamper Challenge

Today's featured stamper is 'Starofmay'. Kirstina has a beautiful gallery, all of her designs are so clean and crisp. I had a hard time deciding which card to case but I decided on this cutie. Check out Kristina's blog you won't be disappointed!

On my version of Kristina's card I changed the stamp that I used and some of the cardstock colors, otherwise it is pretty much the same as hers.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Slider Tutorial

These are the supplies I used to make the Flakly Friends slider card shown here . Your supplies may differ depending on how you choose to embellish, and which stamp set you choose.

Supplies include: Paper Trimmer, Scissors, 1/8" Sticky Strip, Brads, Paper Piercer, Mono Adhesive, Markers, Ticket punch,Linen Background Stamp, Winter green DP, Always Artichoke CS, Whisper White CS, always Artichoke Ink, Flaky Friends Stamp set.

Step 1. Cut your 8 -1/2" x 11 inch colored cardstock lengthwise into two pieces that measure 4 -1/4" x 11". Set one piece aside to use for a second card. Fold in half so card measures 4 -1/4" x 5- 1/2".

Step 2: Using your Linen background stamp, stamp the front of your card and also on the inside of the card (you will only be seeing the top back portion of the inside).

Step 3: Trim 1 -3/4" from the front of the card. Set aside.

Step 4: Creating the inside 'slider'. Cut a piece of white cardstock to measure 4" x 3-3/4". Starting at the top, measure a line 3/8" in from each side stopping 3/4" from the bottom. This will resemble an upside down T.

Trim on the lines.

Step 5: Cut a piece of Always Artichoke to measure 3-1/4" x 4". Attach this piece of whisper white to the top of the Artichoke.

Step 6: Starting from the inside fold, attach a 1/8" x 3 -1/2"strip of sticky tape to each side, making sure you get as close to the edges as possible.

Place your 'T' shaped slider in the middle of the sticky strips as shown in the picture (make sure that there is a little room on each side of the sticky strip so it will be able to slide easily when put together) You may need to trim a SMALL amount on each side if you feel it might not slide easily, (don't remove to much). Remove the top layer of the sticky strip and fold the top of the card over to form a pocket.

**This next step is very important**

Step 7: To ensure your slider will not pull all the way out, you will need to place brads in each of the upper corners. It is very important that they are in far enough to catch the tabs at the bottom of the slider when it is pulled upward. I placed my brads 3/8" in from each outer corner of the front pocket.

Add your designer paper to the front. If adding ribbon place a piece of sticky strip to the top of your DP, add ribbon.

Step 8: Stamp the slider and add embellishments. Add colored image to the top of the pocket. Enjoy!
