Sketch challenge #12 & Color Challenge

I feel as though I haven't stamped in weeks! Our family went to the cabin this past weekend and had some good ole' relaxing time along the beach and the camp fire! Unfortunately it will probably be the last and only time we get there this year!
So to catch up a bit I combined Beate's weekend sketch challenge #12 with this week's color challenge #125 from SCS.
Another square card for this challenge (I love them!). I rolled the 'So Swirly' wheel in Bliss Blue ink over the top of the Bliss Blue cs. I then layered with the new 'Linen Prints' & the 'Certainly Celery' DP's, I just love the new DP's. I then stamped the tulips from the 'Garden Whimsy' (another new favorite) over Whisper white cs multiple times. I also stamped the tulip on scrap paper three times and cut out the flower bud and added to the top of the designs using a dimentional for extra dimention.
The new corner punch is awesome, I added a few corners to the flower layer and than added a few brads to that.
Supplies used: Stamps~ Garden Whimsy, So Swirly jumbo wheel.
Paper~ Bliss Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper white, Linen & Certainly Celery DP.
Ink ~ Bliss Blue, Certainly Celery.
Accessories~ Certainly Celery Grosgrain ribbon, Slot punch, Brads - Vintage & Certainly Celery, dimentionals.

Garden Whimsy - Color Challenge

Garden Whimsy appears to be one of the new favorites of many, including myself! These tulips are just too darn cute! This is my card for this week's color challenge over at SCS.

I love making these smaller square cards! This card measures 4.5 x 4.5 square. It's hard to see in this picture, but I stamped the Linen background stamp over the pretty in pink layer. I really like to use the background stamps that SU! offers. I think I own almost every one that they have had over the years (and that's alot!).

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies used: Stamps ~ Garden Whimsy, Linen background stamp, small sayings.

Paper ~ Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Old Olive, Petals & Paisleys DP.

Ink~ Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Old Olive.

Asseccories~ Rose grosgrain ribbon, Old Olive Brads,White gel pen, Giga scallop oval punch, mega oval punch.

Beate's weekend Challenge #11

It's been a while but I finally was able to do a sketch challenge! Here is my take on Beate's weekend sketch challenge #11 for this past weekend. I am really loving Stampin' Ups! new DP Le Jardin.

I hope that you can see that the butterfly looks 3D. To create this look I stamped the butterfly on a piece of vellum using a Bordering Blue craft pad, I then used clear embossing over the top and a heat tool. After it cooled I cut out the design (wings only) and used a mini glue dot to attach the wings over the top of another butterfly design that I had stamped and cut out using my Coluzzel cutting system.

Supplies Used: Stamps ~ Garden whimsy, Tres Chic bg stamp.
Paper ~ Whipser White, Bordering Blue, River Rock, Le Jardin DP, Vellum.
Ink ~ Bordering Blue Classic & Craft ink pads.
Accessories ~ Clear embossing powder, heat tool, Clouzzel Cutting System, punch from 'Three for You' punch box, River Rock stitched ribbon, vintage brads.

The big reveal happened today!

Look what I received in the mail today - a gift from my secret sister Gena. For the last 3 months she has been sending me cards and even a birthday gift, all in secret. I had no idea who was doing this until today when she revealed her secret identity, YEAH.
So now that I know who she is, I can visit her SCS gallery and her blog that she recently started - My Stampin' Garden. I'll be visiting often Gina! Thanks again for the gift, and the card is beautiful!

We're Back Home!!!

After a 14 hour ride in the car it's good to be home!!! Our Family took a road trip to Colorado this last week for our Niece's wedding, we left on Thursday of last week and returned home last night around 10:00 pm.

The wedding was beautiful!! It was an outdoor wedding in a garden at a Mansion outside of Denver. the bride was also beautiful. It was kind of sad to see her get married as she was the flower girl in our wedding 18 years ago!

It was a short trip but we managed to get in some site seeing as well. Above is a picture of my three kids at the 'Garden of the Gods'. there are some interesting rock formations in this part of the country. The kids had a fun time hiking around even though it doesn't look like it with everyone looking so serious!

On the way home we took a different route and visited Mount Rushmore. It's amazing how they can sculpt these Presidents in the side of the rocks!

I am kind of bummed out as I signed on to my blog today and found that I do not have a ranking anymore! Where did it go? I went to the Top 50 website to try to figure out where it may have gone, but could not figure it out. I know that other people have had this happen, can anyone give me any suggestions as to what may have happen.

I hope this doesn't sound petty but it was kind of fun watching my ranking go up from 375 to 184. Now I am starting over again at 420 (boo-who).

Ahoy Matey!

I feel like such a slug lately when it comes to stamping, it's not that I don't want to stamp, I just can't seem to find enough time with everything that is going on!
What's going on you say, well where do I start?
1. I went to Boston with my daughter for a long weekend.
2. My son went to the emergency room for stitches & a broken nose.
3. I made 60 wedding invites for my Nephew's wedding.
4. We had a 70th birthday party for my Mom this last weekend. 80 people showed up for that!
5. We are in the process of re-roofing & re-siding our house. That noise has been going on for about 5 days now.
6. My daughter leaves for New York this Saturday, so we needed to make sure she had everything she needs for that trip.
7. The rest of us are driving out to Colorado for our Niece's wedding on the 14th and had to go out and buy new outfits for everyone.
And in between all of that we have been going to the kids softball games. WHEW! No wonder I haven't had time to stamp for fun!!!!
Well I pulled out this card that I made for one of my Nephew's Birthday (I always make more than 1 card when I stamp).
I was glad to see that this set made the new catalog! So many of my favorites from the mini catalogs did not make it, maybe in the spring.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies Used: Stamps~ Ahoy Matey.
Ink~ Basic Black, markers for coloring.
Paper~ Ballet Blue, Bliss Blue, Real Red, Barely Banana, Whisper White.
Accessories~ White Eyelets, Sponge.
