OUCHHHHHHH!

Yesterday was not a good stamping day!!!!! As you can probably see why!!!!

It all started at 6:45 am when I dropped my 14 yr old off for his first day of golf league, at 8:45 am I received a call from him saying 'Mom the ambulance guy wants to talk to you'. I said "WHAT" and the next thing I know is he is being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Two and a half hours later along with a broken nose, seven stitches and a slight concusion we were on our way home from the ER.

Picture on the left was taken shortly after we got home from the hospital. Picture to the right was taken this morning (next day). His left eye definitely swollen shut, but he is in good spirits.

Yesterday he was already wondering when their tee off time would be next week! I'm just thankful that it wasn't worse! What a tough guy!

Ahhhh Summer

First full day of summer, and the weather here is cloudy & rainy, yuck!!! Maybe this card will cheer me up, I wish I was sitting on a beach somewhere warm. LOL.
I used 'Shore Thing' for this card (still hoping that it makes the new catalog!) On a piece of glossy card stock I ran my Caribbean Sea Kaleidacolor ink pad over the top a couple of times and let dry. Next I stamped my images in basic black over the top of the caribbean sea. Let dry then mount on basic black cardstock and add to front of card.
I'm on my way to a softball game. Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies Used: Stamps~ Shore Thing.
Paper~ Tempting Turquoise, Gable Green, Basic Black, White Glossy.
Ink~ Caribbean Sea Kaleidacolor ink pad, Basic Black.

I am working on a swap with my downline and of course I am using the new 'Pick a Petal', I will post it after I send it out so I don't spoil the surprise!

Another RAK for me!

Lucky Me! I received another Blogger RAK for my birthday, this one is from Christine 'Photo Bug' (SCS). Christine used 'Blooming with Happiness'. I love the bright cheery colors she used. This set is so fun! I finally broke down and got this set before it retires. I have seen so many cute cards using this set that I just had to get it before it was gone! Now all I have to do is start using it! Thanks Christine, you added a bright spot to my day!

I'm Back!

I'm back from my trip to Boston! My daughter and I went to Boston for a hockey tournament, her summer team went out there and ended up taking second place. They should have won the Championship since they had beat the same team earlier 3-0. Megan did a awesome job, she scored 7 goals for the weekend (4 in one game!).

This is a picture of my daughter Megan and my cousin Janet who also went out there with us having lunch at Cheer's. We had a great time!!!

BRAK

Tuesday was another good mail day! I received this cute BRAK from Amanda Sewell over at Inkspirations. Amanda sent me this cutie for my birthday which is on Friday. Thank you Amanda you made my day!

I love the ribbon she used along with the crystal effects that is on the frosting. Not sure if you can see it or not but she added glitter on the candle & the cupcake paper. Amanda also used the Giga & Mega scallop punches.

Featured Stamper Challenge

This is my card for this week's Featured Stamper Challenge over at SCS. This is the first time that I have done this challenge, but have been wanting to do it for a while now.
This challenge is to CASE (copy) a card from the featured stampers gallery and change two things on it. I changed the stamp set that I used and the colors of papers & brads. Click Here to see Sarah's (seewah at SCS) card that I cased.
I made the brads that are on this card by heating them with my heat gun for about 30 seconds then dipped them into the yellow emboss powder. The powder does melt partically but you need to heat them for about another 5 seconds (don't over heat). Let cool for about 5 minutes. Hint: use a wooden clothes pin to hold the brad and to let it cool down on.

Suplies Used: Samps~ Petal Prints, Wonderful Words.

Paper~ Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, Whipser White.

Ink~ Black Stazon

Accessories~ Black polka-dot organdy ribbon, white organdy ribbon, gold brads found at office store, yellow embossing powder, heat gun, window sheets, glue pen, yellow glitter.

My Daughter's First Concert

As many of you know, my daughter Megan turned 16 last month. One of her Birthday gifts was a ticket from my Brother and his Wife to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul 2 Soul concert.

Well the concert was Friday night, and she LOVED IT! My ears are still ringing, but we had a great time! Six of us went, we had two tickets on the main floor and the other four were 14 rows up from the main floor. The seats were awesome!

We took turns going down to the main floor to watch and one of my brothers got some great close up pictures with his zoom lens. Here are a couple that I thought I would share.
I must be getting old when a country concert is to loud for me! LOL!! Thanks for stopping by today.

Combined Challenge!

I decided to combine this week's SCS color challenge & sketch challenge in one.

The color challenge for this week was to use Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery & Ruby Red (yes, I said Ruby Red). I wasn't sure how to get these three colors to work at first (especially the Ruby Red), but I finally decided to use the Ruby Red in the center of the flowers. I think it actually turned out ok.

For the sketch challenge, I decided to move the center band down towards the bottom of the card instead of in the middle.

Thanks for Stopping by today!

Ways to use it Challenge

This week's way to use it challenge was to use a stamp set that will be retiring from the current SU! catalog. WELL I have about 100 sets that I could use for this challenge! But for now I think that I will show you some cards that I made with the All Natural set, this is one that I used alot and will miss.

I had seen a card similar to this one awhile ago and I just had to case it, but I don't remember who to give credit to (sorry).

Supplies Used: Stamps~ All Natural
Paper~ Summer Sun, Whisper White.
Ink~ Basic Black, Summer Sun, Old Olive, More Mustard.
Accessories~ Black Writer, Aqua Painter, Coluzzle Cutting System.

This card was fun to make with the different cuts. I folded the Night of Navy Cardstock in half so it measured 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I then took a piece of Very Vanilla & Bordering Blue that both measured 5 1/4 x 4 and cut them diagonal. I stamped both pieces making sure that I stamped each others opposite, then attached them to the Navy. Than stamped the middle panel and layered and attached over the top.
Supplies Used: Stamps~ All Natural, Little Shapes.
Paper~ Night of Navy, Bordering Blue, More Mustard, Very Vanilla.
Ink~ Night of Navy, More Mustard, Crisp Cranberry.
Accessories~ Blender Pen
